Meditation with water source - find out how you can meditate simply with nature - today in the background of water.

Pleasures and sources of relaxation add great comfort and are near and dear. Water is life, water means health and beauty, but also can be a source of contemplation and rest.

I am an anxious swimmer. Do not mistake that with a state of worry. What it means is that I anxiously await warmer temperatures to get back to the lake, river or ocean. As a matter of fact I start swimming around mid-May and end that at the end of September, at times October. I live in New England.

Why does it matter? What does water mean to me? It is: away, time off, goodness and wellness. It combines many things that I love with clarity and focus on self-improvement and health. If I am away from water I miss it like one would miss an old friend.

I long for it and dream about it. In colder months I walk by the water, listen to creeks and sit by the waterfalls and brooks. I seek water-creatures, examine crustaceans and collect rocks smoothed by the sea working on them with gentle strength and repetition for hundreds of years.

I take home a few shells, if allowed. I respect the dunes and think of it all as too important to selfishly abuse or even consider yours for a little while. It is ours, but not ours. We are just passing by the and with the water with all its life, glory and lasting power. Without water all we have is null. There is no alternative that I am aware of.

My mission today and everyday is to protect water; my meditation practice it to be near water or replicate that experience whenever I can. Listen to the podcast (audio) for simple meditation practice with water.

Choose this week as a start or continuation of an easy ritual of exploring meditative quality of water and its sources.

Even better, while doing so - stay hydrated. My recent post on benefits of water is here.
