I found a small, green courtyard in the middle of the hospital.

My interest in this space, with its potential, has been ongoing. At times I observed other folks enjoying it, a group of friends eating lunch there, recently nurses and others taking mask brakes there. There are few tables and scattered bushes and plants. There was a kitchen employee who used to care for this green space a few years back. Now it looks like it could use some upkeep. I am in the process of talking to the hospital administration about revising this wellness space.

As temperatures rise I see more and more people enjoying this little escape right in the middle of what often feels like organized chaos. The hospital may be a happy place if you await for news on delivery of healthy baby of your friend, but most common it is a center of a real-life medical drama - tests needed, treatments deployed, conditions you find out you have, loved ones you worry about and visit.

And for doctors, nurses and many supportive staff it is a place of work and everyday existence. It may be a place where you score a win or where you lose a battle, but no matter what, it is a place that you will spend many hours. To remain sharp, effective and focused, or simply to better balance, I find time for a few minutes of meditation during my day. It is a needed pause that I talk about in today’s podcast. I found out which meditation works for me, but always look for new challenges and discoveries that I shared here previously.
