Support Wellness.
You work, you take breaks, recharge and then go back to work.
Remember the phrase - eat, poop, sleep, repeat? It is imprinted on baby clothing, but there is no age limit in regard to that sentence and how it relates to our simple needs, TLC could be an adult equivalent of that.
Last months have been stressful for many and this holiday season I want to reflect on the past, plan the future and focus on what is ahead that is worth my time and effort. I am sure you make similar calculations. Too little and you get bored and too much and you get stressed. Recently I met with my friend and acupuncturist Erin Baldt who has a lovely and vibrant practice in Cranston, RI.
Erin is a healthcare professional, business woman and mom of a few pets. She sees patients, teaches her skills to younger generation, is open to new ideas, and inspires me to pursue what I truly love. The balance between work and personal life is a topic of our many conversations. With this post I want to reflect on friendship and circumstances of last year and a half that could have been very challenging for those who are in caregiving professions, and those who constantly give back through their work, like nurses, acupuncturists - like Erin, teachers, academicians and healthcare providers of all sorts. It is not to diminish pain and suffering of other groups that have been touched negatively in last year.
It is to concentrate on the niche that I would like to reach with my posts: the ones that I mentioned and each one of you who reads and follows these pages and DOC social media.
Caring for caregiver is not a small task and many healthcare systems, but not enough on local and national level, step up to the effort of clinician and teacher wellness. We get thank you e-mails, there is an employee of the month selection, free meal, others. However - does it really get to the root of the problem why so many in caring professions are stressed out? Does it really offer a solution?
Now, to what is new and reflects on topics mentioned aboveā¦
DOC Store, (which is a page of this website with few cultivated products and my art for sale), underscores importance of looking to preventive strategies to combat burnout and tremendous load that comes with caring and teaching professions. Each item sold will support this effort. I just added a few mugs you can enjoy your tea (or coffee) in. All mugs and other items ship for free. Enjoy and do good!
Disclaimer: Nothing is truly for free and the price of items reflects what my partners that produce and deliver the products charge and their hipping cost/s. Thanks for visiting. Be Well!
